Sit N’ Stand Double Stroller Model SS76 and Sit N’ Stand Ultra Stroller Model SS66

Baby Trend wants to reassure parents and caregivers that the Sit N’ Stand Double and Ultra strollers with detachable canopy are completely safe when used as intended and in accordance with the company’s operating instructions. Baby Trend’s deep commitment to the safety of babies and families is a main reason why U.S. consumers have purchased more than one million of these strollers since 2009.

Out of an abundance of caution, Baby Trend has joined with the CPSC to urge consumers to remove and store the stroller’s canopy when not in use. We also remind consumers to never leave a child unattended in any of our strollers, and to always use the stroller’s built-in child restraining system as recommended when a child is in the stroller. Our instructions and warnings also clearly caution parents and caregivers to never allow our strollers to be used as a toy, and to store them when not in use.

This tragic and exceedingly rare accident could have been altogether avoided if the young toddler had not been permitted to climb and play on the stroller, which was not being used as intended at the time. Again, we provide this public notice alongside the CPSC to help prevent even the most remote possibility of harm, while assuring our consumers that our products meet all applicable ASTM and CPSC safety requirements for Stroller (16 CFR 1227).

Hybrid 3-in-1 Combination Booster Car Seat
Model Number FB49E14A, Desert Blue

Date of Manufacture 12/06/2021 Only

Baby Trend Hybrid 3-in-1 Combination Booster Car Seat.

At Baby Trend, safety is our #1 priority, and we design, engineer, and test all our products with that in mind. Since we strongly stand by that priority, we have decided to voluntarily recall from consumers a specific LATCH assembly strap on certain past production of 2,600 Hybrid 3-in-1 car seats, model number FB49E14A, 12/06/2021 manufactured date coded seats only. The car seats were originally sold by Walmart with no current retail or online inventory involved.

The LATCH webbing strap reportedly failed the minimum initial breaking strength requirements under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209. Due to such technical noncompliance, if the webbing were to become frayed, which could reduce its strength, it may fail to restrain the seat and pose a risk of injury in the event of a vehicle crash if it were only installed using the lower anchor LATCH strap. Most importantly, Baby Trend has received ZERO reports of incidents in connection with the use of the straps subject to this recall. Owners can continue to safely use the car seat as per the Company’s current product instruction manual and should replace the LATCH assembly as soon as the replacement strap becomes available. The vehicle seat belt may also be used safely in lieu of the LATCH assembly as outlined in the product instruction manual.

Owners of Hybrid 3-in-1 Combination Booster Car Seats, Model Number FB49E14A, Desert Blue should check the manufacturer label located on the seat bottom and check the “Manufactured in:” date code to see if it is a 12/06/2021 seat. Owners should register online here, Register Now, to automatically receive a letter and replacement strap. The label on the seat bottom of a recalled seat will look like this:

Baby Trend Hybrid 3-in-1 Combination Booster Car Seat manufacture sticker label.

Baby Trend will directly provide owners with a replacement strap and installation instructions free of charge. The owner notification letters, replacement straps and instructions will be mailed together within 30 days.

TrendZ FastBack 3-in-1 Car Seat

At Baby Trend safety is our number one priority and we design, engineer, and test all Baby Trend products with that in mind. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determined, through its own investigation, that certain AmSafe Signature, QT harness buckles on some Graco car seats, when engaged, may not easily unlatch. Based on the NHTSA investigation and because we stand by our number one priority of safety, Baby Trend is voluntarily recalling similar buckles used on the TrendZ Fastback 3-in-1 car seat.

Only the following two Models are involved:

TrendZ FastBack 3-in-1 Car Seat FB60070 TrendZ FastBack 3-in-1 Car Seat FB60408

TrendZ Fastback 3-in-1 Car Seat by Baby Trend
Models: FB60070 & FB60408
These seats were produced between 10/2011-7/2013

As noted, these two select models use a harness crotch buckle which may become resistant to unlatching over time, due to exposure to various contaminants (like food and drinks) that are present in everyday use of the car seat. This condition may make it difficult to remove a child from the vehicle. There is no such risk if the buckle is functioning normally. These car seats meet all requirements for crash safety under the federal FMVSS 213 safety standard. If you are not experiencing difficulty unlatching the buckle, you can continue to use the seat to safely transport your child.

Most importantly, Baby Trend has received zero reports of injuries to children in connection with the use of this buckle on the seats that are subject to this recall.

Baby Trend is providing customers who own the TrendZ Fastback 3-in-1 Car Seat (Models: FB60070 & FB60408) a remedy kit, free of charge. The remedy kit includes a replacement buckle and instructions on how to install the new buckle. The remedy kit can be ordered by calling Baby Trend customer service at 1-800-328-7363 and will start to ship the week of May 12th. Please do not return the car seats to retailers. If you are experiencing difficulty unlatching your buckle before your remedy kit arrives, cleaning the buckle should alleviate any difficulty. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this matter has caused you and your family.
